Smiles Through Trials

Happy Tuesday all.

Hello?

Beuller?

Beuller?

I know, I know it's been a bit, since I've been on here, and this saddens me.  I need more hours in the day.  I'm not greedy, I just want like two-three tops, but I really need them.

Well, since it's Tuesday, you know it must be time for TTUT, or as I like to call it TTUT, oh wait, you can't hear me.  Ooops.  Anyways, getcher butts on over to The lovely Impulse, ohh, that sounds mysteriously naughty and The Seriously Awesome Shawn, to join in their blog hop, that's also attached to another amazing blog hop, hosted by a new favorite lady blogger, Emmy Mom.   Go check them all out.  Emmy Mom is doing her monthly 10 things that made me smile blog, which is amazing, and I'm jumping on her bandwagon, but in a kinda different way.  Hope y'all don't mind.  You know me, just gotta be different.

So here goes...

1.  We recently had a nice sized snow/ice storm that left us with trees and power/cable lines pinned to cars.  It was a mess.  What made me smile was, the amazing pictures I got, because of it, it killed off most of the annoying blackberry bushes in the back yard, YAY, and it gave me a couple days off of work to spend some quality time with my family  all in all it was a nice little vacation.

2.  The Mr. went snowmobiling on Saturday, while I was working, and on one of my breaks, D is texting me horror stories of the snowmobile hitting a tree, and her dad being lost in the snowy wilderness with one of his buddies for over an hour.  Talk about scary news to get over a text.  However, what made me smile, was the fact that not only The Mr. okay, but there were funny stories of how him and B. were already planning that they might have to cuddle to stay warm, if not found soon, and then started arguing who would kill, and eat who, when pine needles lost their appeal.  Please keep in mind, that The Mr. does indeed have a GPS, that can track his, every damn move, up there on that mountain.  Rubbing that in to him also kind of made me smile.

3.  Saturday afternoon was my Darling Great Uncles funeral.  A somber day, to say the least, but you wanna know what made me smile?  The thought of my uncle, being reunited with the love of his life, and many of his siblings.  I also smiled, because I got to spend time with my family, giving and getting the tightest hugs, and having the courage to get up in front of all those people and tell them how great of a man, my uncle was.

4.I just realized how much it's going to cost for D to graduate this year.  HOLY SHIT, it costs some jingle jangle to graduate a kid from HS these days.  Ugh, gonna be working lots of Saturdays to pay this one off, but I dare you to just try to wipe the smile off my face, at the fact that she's graduating, on time, and not pregnant.  Take that all you stereotypers, that did your stereotyping of me. :p.

Ok, I know it's supposed to be 10, but could you imagine how long this post would be if I did that.  Yeah, I know, I'm long winded or in this case, long fingered?  I don't know.  What I do know is that I have to leave you, and go to the real world, where chores get done, and kids get taken to school.

Go link up and see if you can smile more than me. :)

  1. It truly is hard to really get lost anymore. I love the commercial on TV for , I think Chevy trucks, where the group of guys drives until they lose cell signal.

  2. Love how you did this! See there is always something good to be found in even some pretty crazy situations. Glad you husband really didn't have to eat anyone. And snow pictures are definitely some of the best ones.

  3. I love your 4 things and that you're a rule breaker!

My hubby broke his back in a snowmobile accident right before we got married. I was so fearful he would't be able to walk down the isle but he did!

I have a junior, thankfully they started collecting money this year for some of the expenses because you're not kidding when you say it expensive!

Thanks for linking up with us!

  4. You're funny! I love the introduction! That was great!

My hubby has a snowmobile. It lives in Michigan where they actually get snow. I have heard about MANY accidents and stupid drunken incidents but maybe those are in the past?

Why do our babies grow up so fast? I don't like it. Not at all.

Thanks for linking up with us! You're the best! xoxo
