Snow Angels and Ice Storms.

For the last week, around these parts, we've been hearing of the Snowpocalypse, Snomaggedon and all that jazz. No one believed, we've heard it all before, then we get terribly disappointed when nothing happens.

Not this year.

This year, the fates made some shit happen.

First of all, on Sunday, we all got a nice beautiful blanket of snow. It was wonderful, my yard looked beautiful, I got some really pretty pictures of my little hummingbird. The dog ran a muck and rolled around like a silly little puppy, and KT decided that we were going to have a hot tub slumber party, since D had the day off from school on Monday for MLK Jr. day. That was amazing, a little fireball and hot buttered rums and we were more than ready to make some snow angels.

Yes, this was cold.

But look how amazing they look.

On Monday the snow pretty much disappeared, but we were promised that Tuesday would bring more snow, lots more snow.

And they weren't kidding.

This is our front yard, for the first dusting of snow.

This is Casanova playing with the snowflakes falling from the sky.

Now were getting into the accumulation side of things.

Got us a total of eight inches of snow.  Not bad, since we were positive, we wouldn't see one snowflake all season.
Then came something that no one saw coming.

An ice storm.

Last night, we kept hearing cracking a booming and couldn't figure out what was happening, until we realized, that instead of raining out, it was icing out.  That's when it rains, but as soon as it hits it destination it freezes, leaving our branches, to look like this.

This is was icing does to branches, making them very heavy.

So after we finally fell asleep last night, through the cracking and popping, we wake up this morning to this.

This is what I walked out of my front door to, this morning.
And then I took a step further and saw this.

I called the power company, since there's a live wire going across the top of my car, but they have no idea when they'll be able to get to us, since lots of people have lines down.
Even my poor little rhodie is feeling the pressure of things.

Poor little thing.

Took a walk to the end of the driveway, and this was the view to the house.

Can't take down any of those trees until the power people get here to get the live wire out of the way.
Well I suppose, I should go help the Mr. wrangle up these branches instead of watch him while I give y'all a play by play.

I'm out!
