End of week four.

Photobucket
Thank's to Mamarazzie for her awesome Confessional.  Click the link and fess up...

Well, it's Friday, the first day of Fall and the 4th week of The Mister's layoff and...........

I confess...after almost a month of having him home, I don't wanna kill him half as much as I though I'd want too.

I confess...the budgeting thing really sucks.

I confess...I'm thinking of fibbing on my resume to make me more hireable.  Just a little fib, that hurts no one and will hopefully help me get a flipping interview.

I confess...I'm no longer counting on the Denny's job.  I can't get a straight answer out of my best friend or her manager, also a friend, and I'm tired of waiting for them.

I confess...I get to see my Grams and two of my uncles tonight, that I hardly ever see.  Can we say excited?

I confess...I still want to be a baker, but it's a long ways until it pays bills.

I confess...I need to get away from the computer and frost some cupcakes.

Have a splendid weekend y'all!

Surviving the layoff, week 1

Photobucket

It's Friday Confessional day over at Mamarazzi's House and this is a pretty odd Friday.  Mostly, because it doesn't really seem like Friday now that The Mister is off work for a few weeks.

And since he's been off work for a full week now,

I confess...

*It's really not that bad to have him around everyday.  Of course, it has only been a week, but I have high hopes that it will stay this awesome and that we continue to NOT get on each others nerves.

*I spent the first three days of this week getting the younger enrolled in school.  She decided that yes, she loves online school, but she really misses going to school.  So she's decided that she wants to go to the school her dad, aunt and grandma went to which is awesome, except for the fact that it's not in our district, so I have to take her to school everyday.  Small price to pay for an "excited to go to school" kid though.

*I'm getting excited for fall.  I've been in denial about it, because we really haven't had that much of an awesome summer, weather wise, and I kind of feel a little jipped by it, but I'm getting over that and getting psyched about all the fun fall things to do and make and smell.

* I'm not, however, looking forward to the winter that comes after.  I'm not a huge fan of freezing cold weather.  I'm not ready for my power bill to double.  And I'm certainly NOT ready for the muddy floors and carpets, I mean, I just got them cleaned from last winter.

I've bought 3 Christmas presents already.  This is the first time EVER in my life that I've bought presents before December 15th.  EVER!!!  I may be growing up and getting smarter.  Shhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone else, okay??!!

*I'm officially spent from all this soul bearing.  /Hand to head in my best Scarlet O'Hara voice.

Don't forget to go link up and confess your...........confessions.

Hope everyone has a safe and fabulous Labor Day weekend,
Marisa

Skeletons, what skeletons?

Hey hey, we made it to Friday.  That means it's time to clean out the closet of all the skeletons you've been hiding for the last week.  Link up your confessions over at Mamarazzi's Place.

Here's mine.

I confess...

That I'm actually looking forward to having The Mister home for a bit, but I'm still trying to find a job, so that we can survive, and so I don't kill him.

I'm scared The Younger isn't going to graduate this year and that she'll have to do an0ther half a year to get her diploma.

Let's face it, I'll just be happy that she graduates.

It's 80* out and I want to bake a cake.

I want a coffee, like now.  I've been drinking tea all day and I want some coffee.

I still watch cartoons and the Disney channel, even when there are no kids here.  Spongebob is still my favorite.  Well behind the original Looney Tunes that is.

I'm done confessing.

Happy Weekend.

Today I confess:

*That I'm counting down the minutes until I can call about my future (fingers crossed) job.

*That I just ate lasagna for breakfast.  What?  It has meat, dairy, veggies, and I used whole grain noodles.  It's totally a healthy breakfast.

*If I hear the Tropicana "Good Morning" commercial one more time today, I may snap.

*Two out of the three cars we own, are broken.

*I'm wearing my shirt inside out and I care very little about it.  In fact, I may just wear it like this all day long.  I know, what a rebel!

*I watched the Republican Presidential Debate last night and screamed at the television, more than one three seven times.

*I'm a terrible waiter.  Not like restaurant waiter, I'm awesome at that, well not being a waiter, but being a waitress.  No, I mean, I.Hate.Waiting.

*I totally LOLed when the little squirrel outside fell off the bird feeder.  It almost made me fall off my ball.

*I use an exercise ball as a desk chair.

*I have not gained any balance or new stomach muscles with it, but it's cushier than a chair, and I can bounce.

*I like bouncing

*I'm exhausted from revealing so much.

*Goodbye

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Sweet, sweet Friday.  How I love you.  Not only is it time for a little confessional, but we got big, BIG....Oh wait I'll save it for confession.  Hop on over to Mamarazzi's to fess up!!!

I confess...that this is our biggest weekend of the summer.  This is, nitro paradise, weekend.  This is, change your heartbeat and blow your eardrums, weekend.  That's right, I'm taking about NHRA weekend.  This is the weekend we start dreaming about as soon as the weather starts getting nice.  This is the day, that no matter what everyone's summer plans are, we come together on NHRA Sunday, at the track and breathe in the nitro, feel the rumble in our chest, and refuse to cover our ears, no matter how much they bleed, because we think we're "that badass".  It's our only, non-holiday activity, that we spend the whole day together, Me, The Mister, The Older and her bf, The Younger and her bf and the Father In Law.  It's our summer bliss and we weren't giving it up, no matter what the job situation.

The Dolls at the racetrack last year.  This was a sad time.  One of the drivers had just crashed and died.  We desperately hope all the drivers stay safe.

But this is why they do it.  The rumble, the smell, the speeeeed.  I feel like I should grunt, like Tim the Toolman or something.
I confess... that I almost shit my pants last night when I took a drink of my wine and felt something touch my lips.  I looked down to find a bee..........in my glass.  I was mortified.  I loathe bees.  LOATHE them.  Bumblebees I'm okay with.  They're fuzzy and cute and they have never stung me.  Their hairless cousins on the other hand.  ICK!!!!  And don't even get me started on wasp's.
I'm totally creeped out now.

Just looking at it, gives me goosebumps.  It touched...my lips.  Thankfully it was dead!
I confess...that we have a cat that is slowly adopting us.  He's a young male Siamese, that has decided he likes it at our house.  He came out of the woods one day and started meowing at me.  We made eye contact and my resistance was futile from that point on.  Fast forward two weeks, and I'm now looking to get him fixed and some shots....and I've been feeding him for a week.  In case your keeping count, this will be a fourth cat.  I am hoping though, that if I get him fixed and shot shotted get his shots, I can find a more appropriate home for him, that isn't mine.  Luckily he looks a lot like our Siamese, so The Mister hasn't questioned him yet.

Isn't he gorgeous?  Wouldn't you love to have him?  No really, wouldn't you?

I confess...I'm glad we made it though another week without a lay-off and at least most of next week is safe. More time for job hunting.

I confess...I need to get my ass of here and do just that.

Until next time kids!

We have a daughter again.

Yahooooooooooooooooooo, It's Friday!  Love that!!!

Photobucket

I also love my Friday Confessionals, hosted by the always sweet, talented and fun, Mamarazzi.  Go link up and meet some awesome new people.  I love my new people.

Okay.  Here goes.

I confess...that my younger's birth certificate says she's a boy, so were going today to finally have it changed.  I know I know, I should have done it like, 17 years ago.  Have I ever mentioned my procrastination issues?  No?  Well, I'll tell you them later.

I confess...after writing a post yesterday about, kid-free places, I took said 17 year old to....a bar.  A couple dear friends from high school, have been in a band since high school, and last night they played an all ages show, in a bar, where kids could stay until 11pm.  She had a blast, she hasn't got to see them play as a whole band since she was eight.  Maybe next week I can convince her to sing with them.

I confess...I'm dragging a bit of ass today.  That's okay though, there's plenty to leave behind.

I confess...that were making our third Hawaiian themed birthday cake in a row this weekend.  This one is extra special, because it's for my Grams to take with her when she goes to meet up with her siblings to celebrate birthdays.  They are all separated by a lot of miles and don't get to see each other nearly as often as they'd like, and I want it to be super memorable for them.

I confess...I can't wait to bring home the organ that Grams is giving me.  My whole childhood has 1 material thing in common.  An organ.  My Great Gramma Jane had one when I was just a weeee little one.  As a teenager my Grams and Gramps acquired one, and I would just have to sit and play it every time I went over to their house, wait, I still do that.  So she decided that since she doesn't really play it anymore, it's mine.  I can't wait to drive The Mister over-the-edge insane with my awesome Chopsticks playing skills.  I need to find me a stuffed Chester the Cheetos Cheetah to sit next to me.

I confess...that I'm looking for a job.  The Mister is probably going to be laid off come Tuesday or Wednesday, and it could be for, as little as a week or as much as 3 months.  Ugh!  I'm not sure which will kill us faster, the drop in income or the 15 hours a day of XBox.  I'm betting on the Xbox.

OH EM GEE  I can fight back with my new musical instrument.  When he plays the game, I'll play the organ.
Wait...something about that doesn't sound right.

Anyways...

I confess...this is today's last confession.  Must job hunt.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cleansing the Conscience.

Hey...Hey you....Guess what!!  It's friday.  Can I get a WOOOHOOOO!!!!  Not only is today a day to celebrate the fact that you have the next two days off, but it's time to cleanse the soul with some confessions.  Come on, do it, you know ya wanna.  Jump on over to Mamarazzi's page and link up so we can witness the baring of your soul too.

I confess...that I finally broke down yesterday, and made myself an appointment with the doctor to see if I can't get my Darth Vader Syndrome Incredible Hulk Disorder PMS PMDD Psychotic Rage episodes, whatever you want to call it.  Although, the receptionist did sound very sympathetic when I told her the reason for my appointment.  Hopefully by this time next month, I won't feel like the emotion fairy smacked me in the face with her mood wand .  I mean, it's terribly exhausting to fight off an unwanted foul mood, so you don't ruin the day of someone who doesn't deserve it.

I confess...That I figured out why I wasn't feeling very energetic in the mornings, like I used to.  I ran out of vitamins about a month ago and have just forgotten to get more until about a week ago.
Um, DUH!!!
I know, me, forgetful.  What a shock right?

I confess...I am smarter than I show sometimes, but my life is full of dumbness.

I confess...I didn't think dumbness was going to be a word, but there's no squiggly line under it.  Huh, who'da thunk it.  *Who'da -  is not a word.  Just so ya know.

I confess...that I'm looking forward to The Mr. going camping this weekend, and it being just me and the younger at home.  We have another Hawaiian themed cake and forty-eight more cupcakes to make before noon on Sunday, so were gonna need to be loud and listen to rock and roll music all weekend and I won't have to entertain him while I try decorate a cake.

I confess...that this is today's last confession.
You all rock!!!

Have a SUPERB weekend!

Fess up!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Friday, the day of a clean soul, the day to air out the dirty laundry, one confession at a time.

Thanks to Mamarazzi, for her super awesome link-up that gives us all a chance to get to know one another, via steamy blog confession, or in my case, not so steamy confessions.  What can I say, I haven't been steamy in a long time.

Photobucket

I confess...I wish I was more steamy.  Or at least that my life was.  After 18 years of being together, I confess that most of our life is about as steamy as a cold shower.  Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of love, honor, respect and we're all about compatibility, but the steam, well I don't know where that went.

I confess...that I've never in my life, wanted to shoot a bird...until this morning.  There is a mama and baby crow outside, and the baby is cawing nonstop.  I love my birds, all of them, not crazy about the ones doing loud baby caws at 4:30 am.  Yesterday they woke up the kid and let me tell ya, it was a grumpy start to a morning.  If they wake her up again today, I'm getting the wrist-rocket!

I confess...that I've been imbibing alcohol at a three times the normal rate over the last few months. I've been hanging out with a new friend (well not a new friend, but a long time distant (by distant I mean four houses away) friend that I've developed a deep kinship with recently) and enjoying more of the "loopy juice" than normal.  For me, normal is like, never.  I usually drink one to three times a year, now I'm up to like twice a week, a couple of beers or a bottle glass of wine, nothing major, but definitely more.  That's only three times as much, right?

I confess...I'm a Bossy McTellyouwhattodo.  Evidently I've promoted myself, from Lady of the House to Lady of your Life and I keep trying to take over new property aka innocent souls to boss around.  How did I get like this?  I used to be such a laid back, go with the flow type chick. Where did this bossy, stick in the mud, bitch come from?  Is this what pre-menopause does to you?  Am I just going to get worse?  Should I start drinking even more to compensate my growing craziness?  I think I just answered my own question.

I confess...that this crap weather is driving me crazy.  I think I live in the only state that isn't in a heat wave right now.  We are about fifteen degrees colder than normal.  I feel terrible for all the people that are doing their best to cope with triple digit temps, but mostly I'm just really damn jealous of you all.  I mean, it's been nicer in the North Pole than it has been here.  I hate it.  I'm ready to go on vacation until it hits seventy-five here, for at least a full week, and doesn't rain for two.

I confess...I'm out of confessions for today!

Have a rockin' weekend!

I confess...

Photobucket

It's Friday and that must mean I have to confess.  Mamarazzi says so.  But Confession is good for the soul, right?  So thanks Mamarazzi, for making us confess and get to know each other.  Don't be shy, hop on the linky train, confess, you'll be glad you did.

I confess...that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the fact that the younger and I have 40 cupcakes and a personal cake to finish baking and decorate, before 5 pm tonight.  Oh, and did I mention we also have to pack our stuff for camping, so that we can leave by 6 pm.  It'll totally happen.

I confess...that I had a wonderful Independence day, despite my "lack of enthusiasm" about it the days before.  We had lots of food, lots of fun and lots of BOOMS!

I confess...that I just drove our truck home two miles, while the alarm was going off.  My FOB keychain thingy quit working and I unlocked the truck with the key and started it and the alarm started going off, and kept going off until I turned it off when we got home.

I confess...that today I'm a little sad, because it marks the ten year anniversary of my wonderful Grandpa's death.  He was a superb father figure to me and I miss him greatly, every single day.  But it is good to know that him and my boy are kicking around together and watching over me and my family.

I confess...that I have a shit ton of things to do, which means I need to get off this thing and get it done!

Have a rockin' weekend.

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

Hola and welcome to another Fabulous Friday Confessional.  Don't forget to follow the lovely lady above me to link up your confessions.  Betcha you'll be glad you did.

I confess...That it makes me super happy that The Mister came with me last  night to meet one of my new close friends, KT.  Well her friendship isn't new, but the closeness that we have is fairly new.  We've always been acquaintances, joking and having fun when we see each other at the bar or at a mutual friends house.  Funny thing is, she lives and has lived, four houses down from me.  Now we spend at least three days a week with each other and each others kids.  And last night, The Mister went down to her house with me and used her dock, while I chatted away with her.  AAaand he said he'd even be willing to back over there, and not just because she has a boat to pull him around in, but because he thinks she's a pretty cool chick.

I confess...that I'm a horrible gardener.  I can keep up with small gardens and lots of potted flowers around, but I confess that anything really bigger than that is just to much for me to take care of.  It sucks, because I love flowers, but the morning glory, bedstraw and other various weeds are just taking up more time thank I have to offer.  I swear the, morning glory grows three miles a day.  It's ridiculous and when I've ignored the garden for a couple days, it's wrapped itself around my flowers so good that when I pull it off, I end up ripping the flower out of the ground, then I get pissed and well, the whole idea of "gardening for relaxation" gets tossed in the crapper.  Roses are more my style, they're easy to grow and maintain, for me anyways.

This rose bush is taller than me.  It went through a three foot growth spurt in the last two months.

I love rosebuds.

I had to the hold my camera above my head to get a good shot of this one.

I confess...that I don't like that it's only 64* in my house right now.  Come on day, warm up please.  I can't believe The Mister thought that it was even close to warm enough to swim last night.

I confess...that I'm not looking forward to being the host of this years annual Fourth of July shindig we've thrown for the past five years.  No particular reason I guess, just not "feelin' it" this year.

I do confess however...that I'm very excited to cook for it.

I confess...that I want to be a caterer.  It's always been in the back of my head as an idea of what I want to do with my life, but lately, the urge is getting greater.  I love to cook and create and I always cook like I'm hoarding a small army in my house, so I'm good with cooking in quantity.  I don't wanna be huge or anything, but a small time, neighborhood caterer would be cool.  Okay, being huge wouldn't be too bad either I suppose.

I confess...that I'm gonna have a kick ass, awesome weekend.

Rock on!!

Friday Confessional.

Photobucket

It's Friday and time for a confessional, Mamarazzi style.

I confess that I've been feeling motivational lately and have completely reorganized half of my kitchen this week, plus rearranged the spare bedroom to fit a corner, curio cabinet.
My new curio cabinet.  Empty.  Pay no attention to the really shabbed out dresser next to it.  That's my next project.

I confess, that I always wanted a curio cabinet.  Ever since I started collecting things.   I don't collect anything in particular, but almost all of my collectibles are shiny or sparkly or strange.  Like me.

I confess I've watched Steel Magnolias five times in the last week.  I don't know why I do it to myself, I cry every damn time I watch it, yet I still watch it every time it's on.

I confess that I'm oh so happy that the kid is out of school.  Now I have full time free labor.  Also, more time to get her more active.....at anything.

I confess that I'm very curious of where the new pigeons came from.  I have like three pigeons that have decided to feed at my house.  Five and a half years, I've never seen a pigeon, now I've got The Goodfeathers chillin' in the yard.  It's pretty cool.
One of my three Goodfeathers.

My pigeon looks just like Squit.  Source
I confess that as sad as I am to see my best friends parents house empty.  I'm so very happy that I don't have to help them move anymore.  And I'm totally in love with the curio cabinet they gave me for my efforts.

I confess, I have to go now.  I've got a few boxes of sparkly, shiny, odd things to put in my cabinet.

Have a Rockin' Weekend!!!
